fly card of BFM borrowing service

Borrowing service is available in all the BFM sites for faculty, students, and staff of the University of Turin, University of Piemonte Orientale, University of Valle d’Aosta, Politecnico di Torino, University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, and to healthcare practitioners of Città della Salute e della Scienza, and Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria San Luigi Gonzaga.

Borrowing service is provided Monday to Friday during the entire opening hours of the BFM library sites.

What can I borrow?

Most books available in BFM collections inside the UniTO Library Catalogue, except thesis and dissertations, ancient or rare books, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, journal issues, and other materials only available for reading on site.

How many books and how long can I borrow them for?

Standard loan: up to 3 books for 20 days. Renewable for a maximum total loan period of 40 days.

Short loan: up to 3 books for 7 days. Short loan collections usually contain high-demand items from course reading lists. Renewable for a maximum total loan period of 14 days.

When can I renew a loan?

You can renew your loans as long as the books you borrowed have not been requested by other library users, and you do not have overdue notices. Renewals are allowed before or on the day the item is due.

We suggest you to book or renew a loan by logging in to “Spazio personale” in the right upper corner of UniTO Library Catalogue.

You can also check your loans by following these steps:

  • Click on "Spazio personale"
  • Log in with your UniTO username and password
  • Select "Borrowed items" from the drop down menu near your name

Do you need further support? Have a look at the short tutorial on this page.

If you like, you can also book a day and a time slot to pick-up or return the borrowed book(s) via the Affluences app (web version - App Store - Google Play). You can find the direct links to the BFM library sites below:
