The BFM borrowing service is organised as follows:
- Standard loan: up to 3 books (or comparable materials) for 20 days. Renewable for a further 20 days, up to a maximum of 2 consecutive renewals.
- Short loan: up to 3 books (or comparable materials) selected from high-demand items primarily used for study purposes, for 7 days. Renewable for a further 7 days, up to a maximum of 2 consecutive renewals.
Loans from both categories may be combined.
The borrowing service is available to:
- Internal users: academic staff and researchers of the University of Turin, including those carrying out temporary teaching or research activities at the University and, in particular, temporary affiliates as defined in Departmental regulations; students duly enrolled at the University of Turin; technical and administrative staff of the University of Turin; students and teaching, healthcare, research, technical and administrative staff affiliated with medical, scientific, and cultural institutions that have entered into specific agreements with the University of Turin explicitly covering library services.
- External users who carry out research or study activities in collaboration with a department or other academic structure of the University of Turin, upon submission of a guarantor form signed by a UniTO faculty member or researcher. Access may be granted for a maximum period of 6 months. External users may apply for borrowing privileges by completing this form and uploading the guarantor form (available for download on this page) signed by a member of the academic staff or a researcher of the University of Turin. Once the request has been reviewed, they may be granted borrowing privileges for a maximum of 6 months at all BFM sites.
BFM sites provide the borrowing service Monday to Friday throughout their opening hours.
For comprehensive information on the service, please refer to the BFM Borrowing Service Regulations available on this page.
